TS Claudette made landfall right over top of us last night some time between midnight and 1 am. We had waves washing over the seawall and over the yard, horizontal rain, and winds in the 35 mph range (which was the worst I personally saw.
Since it was only a Tropical Storm, the eyewall was not fully formed, but you knew when it was passing overhead.
Lots of leaves and stuff all over the yard, not sure yet how much rain (forgot to check the raingauge), but otherwise no damage. Well, except that the noise kept me awake until after 2am.
Yawn.
If you gotta have a direct hit in hurricane season, then ask the weather djinn to be kind and let it be a tropical storm...
