J&J’s Adventure Day 12

Hot, hot, hot.  Finally figured out the trick to the airconditioning for the bedroom. As a result, slept much much better.

Went wandering to Greenville yesterday in search of a couple of things. Highlight was finding a Starbucks for Strawberries and Cream frapps instead of lunch.  Even Jim is becoming a fan.

Driving through Bear Grass, the town Jim grew up in, makes me grin. Tiny little town. I pointed out a house for sale there. He cursed me!

Looks like we’ll head home on the 31st, depending if we can make reservations where we want to stay that first night. Holidays complicate life on the road… Want to avoid massive traffic if we can.

Should be a fairly quiet holiday here. Jim’s sister Diane and her family are heading for the mountains, and his other sister and her husband will be celebrating their anniversary.  Mom is being stubborn and won’t budge out of her house for more than a few minutes, although she has agreed to go out to dinner.

Had really really bad weather a few nights ago. Thankfully no tornadoes but man did it pour. As  result the crops are popping up like mad here and you can really see the difference.  Tobacco, corn, but mainly cotton.
